Two tickets from each class advanced from yesterday’s class e lec­ tion prim aries to tom orrow ’s runoffs w ith what Tom Koegel, O m ­ budsm an election chairman, term ed "a phenom enal turnout, the best in years ” The tickets headed by presidential candidates Tom Lupo and Tom Schuler received 227 votes (2 3 p e rc e n t) and 216 votes (21 .8 p e r­ cent), respectively, to earn spots in the senior class election runoff. O ver 56 percen t o f the cu rren t junior class voted. In the race for jun ior class officers the tickets of Mark Mai and Julian Rowe advanced to tom orrow ’s runoff. Nearly 62 percen t o f this year's sophom ore class cast ballots giving the Mai ticket 295 votes, o r 28.2 percen t o f the votes cast, and the Rowe ticket 290 votes, o r 27.7 p e r­ cen t o f the votes cast. An unpreceden ted 69.3 p ercen t of the freshman class tu rned out to push the tickets headed by Lou Nanni and Bob Thom pson into runoff positions. The Nanni ticket gained 307 votes, o r 26.4 percen t o f the votes cast, while the Thom pson ticket garnered 294 votes, o r 25 3 percen t o f the electorate. Kathy Jurado and Anne M aureen Slowey advanced to the runoffs in the race for off cam pus com m issioner, capturing 47 p ercen t and 31.3 percen t o f the vote, respectively.
